If you are visiting this webpage, most likely you, like hundreds of millions around the world, have been left speechless by the current devastating war against Ukraine, with enormous implications for the region and the world. This war is taking a toll on everyone, and the world’s most vulnerable people and countries, children, women and elderly are bearing the brunt of this unfolding tragedy. Millions of refugees are fleeing Ukraine to seek refuge in one of the neighboring countries. Moldova, the tiny nation at the border with Ukraine, has been dubbed in the international media as “a small country with a big heart”, and “a poor country with a rich heart”, for its warm and generous welcome of the highest ratio of refugees to population ever happening in the world.
Along the years the Saint Pio Foundation has established a good relationship with a catholic foundation that provides education and food to orphan children in Moldova, called Regina Pacis Foundation.
Regina Pacis Foundation has been established and is being admirably led by an inspirational priest, Msgr. Cesare LoDeserto, a native of the region of Puglia, the land of Padre Pio. Day after day, he lives and breathes with his holy work, providing tangible relief and spiritual help to anyone in need.
Therefore, in line with Saint Pio Foundation’s mission to promote awareness of Saint Pio and his charism nationally and internationally by working with institutions and individuals who share the same vision to serve “those in need of relief of suffering,” we decided to establish this dedicated webpage with the goal to raise $50,000 to feed and provide shelter to Ukrainian refugees.
The funds raised via this webpage starting from March 29 until April 27, 2022, will be used to provide aid to the Ukraine Refugees in Moldova via the Regina Pacis Foundation, and other selected and qualified charitable organizations.
Our hope is that you will consider supporting this cause and join us in “bringing relief from suffering to those in need”, namely to the refugees of Ukraine, in the name of Padre Pio.
