Millions of people are constantly laid off or have lost their jobs altogether. Families unable to pay their rent or to buy food and medicine are experiencing a harsh reality that few ever would have imagined possible in this country.
That is why the Saint Pio Foundation, following the teachings of Saint Pio, embarked on a mission of mercy for those most deeply affected by these unfortunate episodes.
On Christmas 2020, the Saint Pio Foundation launched “Christmas Challenge Initiative 2020,” a project that provided more than 2,000 free boxes of food to needy and struggling households in Southern Connecticut, Westchester, New York City, Brooklyn, and Washington, D.C., enabling recipients to make their own Christmas meal. Each box contained enough nutritious, high quality food to feed a family of four, as well as a card imprinted with Padre Pio’s prayer “Stay with me, Lord.” Christmas Challenge Initiative 2020 nourished the whole person by providing high quality food products and encouragement in keeping with Padre Pio’s Italian roots.
This inspiring story is the underlying foundation of the launch of “Panis Angelicus.” Panis Angelicus, literally “Bread of Angels,” aims to provide needy and struggling American households with nutritious food products. Panis Angelicus is supported by individuals, families and larger food companies whose corporate management teams enthusiastically support our goal to feed those in greatest need.
And our network of regional Catholic Charities organizations and Christian faith-based food pantries is growing daily to meet the requirements of an enlarged distribution area.
Everyone dreams of doing something important, something memorable, and the Saint Pio Foundation has such an opportunity for you to leave your mark on the world.
So will you help us deliver food, the Bread of Angels, to the neediest of the poor here in this land of plenty? Every cent raised for Panis Angelicus will be used by the Saint Pio Foundation solely for the purpose of providing food to those who are in greatest need.

Mercy knows no season. Our Lord Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me,” and Pope Francis has reminded us more than once that when we look into the face of others, especially the sick and the poor, we are looking into the face of Jesus Himself.
Thank you for your support. We look forward to hearing from you.
