MISSION
The Saint Pio Foundation is an international non-profit charitable organization that promotes the knowledge of and devotion to Saint Pio of Pietrelcina, known also as Padre Pio, one of the most venerated contemporary saints of the Catholic Church.
VISION
The Saint Pio Foundation works with institutions and individuals that share the same vision to serve those in need of relief of suffering and that seek to alleviate the physical and emotional hunger of the underserved in a dignified and supportive manner. This includes providing spiritual, physical, and emotional nourishment.
In achieving its mission, the foundation focuses on three primary areas: education, hunger, and spirituality.EDUCATION
The Saint Pio Foundation organizes and sponsors educational, social, and cultural initiatives that influence and advance the public's knowledge of the teachings, legacy, and importance of Saint Pio. These events feature displays of historical photographs of Saint Pio, of letters written from Saint Pio, and the presentation of keynote speakers and who have deep knowledge about the life of Padre Pio. The Foundation also sponsored the first international docudrama about the life of Saint Pio.HUNGER AND FOOD INSECURITY
Following Saint Pio's example, the Saint Pio Foundation sponsors many charitable projects in support of the less fortunate, among which are the "Panis Angelicus" initiative which aims to provide needy and struggling American households with nutritious food products, and the “Pizza for a Smile” initiative that provides several thousand pizzas around the United States of America, and that are handed directly to needy recipients with words of encouragement in exchange for a smile.SPIRITUALITY
The most important of its initiatives is its annual tour of the authentic relics of Saint Pio. The majority of those attending the tour of the saint’s relics would never be able to travel to San Giovanni Rotondo or Pietrelcina to visit the places where this modern saint was born, lived, and died.
The foundation is also establishing a number of Chapels of Saint Pio around the country, offering to the faithful to have a “spiritual encounter” with Saint Pio, in the presence of an authenticated first-class relic.
